It claims to be about Pueblo and Navajo Pottery and "for collectors" but it only covers three pueblos in any kind of depth. The section on Acoma pueblo is one of the largest, but it has far too many examples of greenware (pre-made pots painted by the artist) and ot|About the Author|Guy Berger is a second-generation trader in Indian goods at Palms Trading Co. in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nancy Schiffer is a writer whose works include books on Southwest arts, jewelry, and Japanese ceramics.

This special pottery combines the traditions of Pueblo and Navajo artists from Arizona and New Mexico with daring new interpretaions by the modern generation. In hundreds of beautiful color photos, styles inherently connected with old beliefs and Southwest clay are shown to have a fresh appearance in the hands of contemporary potters.
